I am still wondering what to do about developing a career in IT as their is so many confusing info on the internet and I am trying to decide what to do. first thing of all is I understand allot of employers requirements are that you have a degree I don't know if this needs to be in IT or not. The first thing I wish to talk about is degrees I have been offered only 30 credits towards an open university degree in IT and computing based on this I would have to study it for around 4 years at least part time however I have been offered 240 credits towards an open degree. I am contemplating which to do I don't like the idea of doing it for 5 years basically if I did IT as a subject it would take me 5 years part time to complete a degree. If I do the open degree as I all ready have a HND in design communications and because of this the open university have awarded me 240 credits towards an open degree which is not a named degree as such. clearly this means I could get a degree in 2 years part time or 1 year full time. I am really unsure which would be best to get for me currently would not having an IT degree stop me from being able to get an IT job? Also I am really unsure about what courses would be a good decision for me to do for example the A++ or the mcsa, mcse courses I have seen some that are done by computeach but when I called to discuss my problems here they seemed to try to sell me a sales pitch. computeach told me the fee was ÂŁ1700 to do the Microsoft certified courses and the A++ for 12 months subscription which seemed to me they were trying to do the hard sell. I am really unsure what is the best path to follow clearly allot of employers are demanding a degree but I am not convinced being Microsoft certified would get me a good paying job what do you know about the best way to break in and what is the job employment prospects out their. I bought an Xbox for myself in February for about $350 brand new and I just play online sometimes and I have never been in trouble on Xbox before- I am 21 years old and a female and on Friday my Xbox live wasn’t working- I called Xbox and they said Xbox live was down right now, try in two hours. I woke up the next morning and it was still down, I called them and the directed me to my internet provider—which nothing was wrong. I then called Xbox again for some trouble shooting and they let me know that my Xbox has been permanently banned from playing Xbox live anymore. Someone was transferring me to another dept and of course we got disconnected- I called back and the representative was telling me that—I am cheating I have a chip in my Xbox, I have my computer hooked up to my Xbox and I am getting illegal software to my Xbox—also that I am modifying my Xbox- I don’t buy many games from the store, I really like the market place and they told me that if I get another Xbox that I need to just recover my gamer tag and re download everything, and its possible my new Xbox might be banned as well. The representative told me the best thing is to sell my Xbox and not tell them Xbox Live doesn’t work—I’m not going to do that, it isn’t the right thing to do. My lawyer is out of town this week for a family emergency and I’m curious if I can take them to court to see what is going on. Does anyone have a GOOD experience with Best Buy Geek Squad?

It seems from repeated experience that the only thing Geek Squad can do for any problem (except maybe a cracked screen) is to reformat the hard drive & reinstall the operating system. I took my laptop in for the "Free" Windows 7 upgrade - $40 install charge, no problem. They had it over a week, and NOW... Despite selling me Kaspersky Internet Security (as the "best" anti-virus on the market) they tell me there are 44 viruses on the hard drive. Yes, it's automatically updated and does daily and real-time scans. Maybe 1 or 2 viruses could even sneak past Kaspersky, but 44?? Now they want $170 to clean the viruses before they can do the upgrade. So they're charging over $200 for the "free" Windows 7 upgrade. Of course, they tell me they can WIPE THE HARD DRIVE (surprise!) and then do the upgrade for $40 (any idiot could do that). I have a second computer eligible for the "free" upgrade but I'm not sure I want the Geek Squad to get their hands on it. Do you think it's Best Buy or Microsoft that is incompetent and/or dishonest? Vista didn't do a lot for my confidence in Microsoft, and this upgrade fiasco with Best Buy makes me seriously doubt their competence and/or integrity. What would you do? Pay the $210 + tax, stay with (yech) Vista, or let them wipe the hard drive, and spend several days reinstalling programs and settings? I'm getting some great answers. Thanks, folks. Sorry. You got took. Kapersky is invasive and slows down your pc almost as bad as a virus will. AVG has an excellent security system free to download.. they come higly recommended. No , best buy has publicly admitted that their geek squad is a farce. They have no special training. Look, the upgrade is a cinch. I believe you can do it. I did . Worst scenario is you screw up and have to take it some where BUT...if you do...call another company. Not geek squad. and take the spyware off yourself, first. oh...Trend-Micro is the bomb in security(they rawk)...And they will scan your pc from online...sweet. here they also have a free set of downloads that work.

Could this be having some effects as a cause for the inability of the Norton Antivirus to perform a full system scan at least once in the past whole year without getting struck in between. Spiritually should I renew my Norton Antivirus which is said to be expiring within next 30 days. I have already given my motor cycle for selling to generate some money. By the way since I do not own a Credit Card (Of course I have a Debit Card), I used my friend's Credit Card for online payment for Norton Antivirus for which I gave him the said amount with a Cash Cheque. I have already uninstalled an encyclopedia which I purchased because of some advertisements coming in my BSNL mobile, mainly because of some warnings from some Antivirus camp last day. But the system is getting struck still. Anyway for the next 10 months the rent for internet is already paid. Maybe I can go on with a Safe Mode with internet for the next 10 months not doing any savings in my Laptop while online. Spiritually speaking what are your thoughts on best course of actions further ? Just thinking whether you might be having some better proposals with the utilization of some sales proceeds ? It is a TVS Victor second hand Bike about 100 cc, which I purchased from another about 6-7 years back. He purchased afresh from the company, maybe one to two years before I bought from him.
